چکیده
To identify drugs that are potentially used for the treatment of COVID-19, potency 1403 FDA-approved were evaluated using a robust pseudovirus assay and candidates further confirmed by authentic SARS-CoV-2 assay. Four compounds, Clomiphene (citrate), Vortioxetine, Vortioxetine (hydrobromide) Asenapine (hydrochloride), showed potent inhibitory effects in both virus The combination (hydrochloride) is much more than alone, with IC50 0.34 ?M.

SARS-CoV-2 infection: its psychiatric manifestations
Background: The clinical presentation of SARS-CoV-2 infection was initially dominated by respiratory symptoms. However the clinical spectrum is wide and neuropsychiatric syndromes are also a source of medical concern. Our aims are to present an atypical clinical presentation of SARS-CoV-2 infection characterized by auditory hallucinations and unusual behavior and to emphasize the diversity of ...
متن کاملFDA-approved selective estrogen receptor modulators inhibit Ebola virus infection.
Ebola viruses remain a substantial threat to both civilian and military populations as bioweapons, during sporadic outbreaks, and from the possibility of accidental importation from endemic regions by infected individuals. Currently, no approved therapeutics exist to treat or prevent infection by Ebola viruses. Therefore, we performed an in vitro screen of Food and Drug Administration (FDA)- an...
متن کاملPossible FDA-approved drugs to treat Ebola virus infection
There is currently no effective treatment for the Ebola virus (EBOV) thus far. Most drugs and vaccines developed to date have not yet been approved for human trials. Two FDA-approved c-AbI1 tyrosine kinase inhibitors Gleevec and Tasigna block the release of viral particles; however, their clinical dosages are much lower than the dosages required for effective EBOV suppression. An α-1,2-glucosid...
متن کاملInhibition of SARS Coronavirus Infection In Vitro with Clinically Approved Antiviral Drugs
Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) is an infectious disease caused by a newly identified human coronavirus (SARS-CoV). Currently, no effective drug exists to treat SARS-CoV infection. In this study, we investigated whether a panel of commercially available antiviral drugs exhibit in vitro anti-SARS-CoV activity. A drug-screening assay that scores for virus-induced cytopathic effects on cu...
